For those who may be unfamiliar with the covenanted obligation that lies upon the Anglosphere Nations, this concise primer will provide the reader with an excellent overview of why God will not forget the sacred National Covenant that England, Ireland, and Scotland (along with all the Dominions of Great Britain) made with Him, who is Governor among the Nations (Psalm 22:28) and who keeps truth forever (Psalm 146:6). What makes this a matter of the utmost importance is that lawful covenants made with God (whether personal, ecclesiastical, or national) cannot be dissolved, repealed, or antiquated by the mere passage of time, by wars of independence, or by crossing an ocean to plant a daughter-kingdom. For the sacred duty of all those bound by lawful covenants is squarely founded upon the moral obligation of the Third Commandment, "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain" (Exodus 20:7).

Author:

Michael Wagner is the Senior Alberta Columnist for the Western Standard and Alberta Report based in Edmonton, Alberta. In that covenant, they bound themselves to that commitment with an oath, and in addition they bound their posterity to it as well. After Cromwell’s death, in the Restoration, Charles II committed himself to the Solemn League and Covenant as one of the conditions for bringing him back to the throne. He of course broke his word, and the solemn covenant was subsequently repealed.

The argument of this book is that a mutual covenant cannot be repealed by just one of the parties, and so the covenant is still in force—broken, but still in force. The additional arguments that Wagner mounts are that members of the Commonwealth (Canada, New Zealand, Australia) are still bound by the covenant as well. Because of the unique history of the United States, and our War for Independence, the argument for us takes a little different route, but arrives at the same conclusion. We also are bound by it.

I think that all Christians would likely agree that covenants made centuries ago, say with the Navajo, should still be honored today. The only alternative, Van Til says, is to base supposed ethical obligations on something other than God, that is, on something finite. Van Til pushes us to question whether ethical obligations or values based on finite authorities, hopes, or motives truly govern ethical behavior in any universally meaningful way. In other words, on this basis, is there something-even actions that may initially seem beautiful or cruel-that is right or wrong? Is there truly good or evil? Van Til's conclusion is clear: ethics must first be about God and His righteousness, or it is about nothing at all.

Specifications:

Format: Paperback
Publisher: Cántaro Publications
Page Count: 222
ISBN-13: 978-1-990771-37-8
Size: 12.7 x 1.3 x 20.32 cm
Published: 2024

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0509/1737/6191/files/TenCommandments_25e4bc42-c45e-46cf-89f9-02f5cf68d195.png?v=1716474937
christ-and-government-paideia-monographs
Christ and Government (Paideia Monographs)

One of the questions in discussion among us, and one which cries out for an answer is the following: Is the government only subject to God Almighty, the Triune God, the Creator of heaven and earth, or should it also know itself to be subject to Christ, as the King who has been crowned by God?

Specifications:

Format: Paperback
Pages: 32 pages
Imprint: Paideia Press
ISBN-13: ‎978-0888153371
Size:‎ 12.7 x 0.18 x 17.78 cm
Published: 2023

S.A. Van der Waal does not promote a false sense of optimism, but does oppose cultural pessimism. The believer is the rightful heir to this inheritance. The cultural mandate has as much a place in the New Testament era as does the mission mandate. On that basis, he calls us to cultural engagement and to living life on this created earth as whole human beings with bodies as well as spirits and souls. We are not to transform culture, and certainly not to counter it, but simply to fulfill our calling. Christians are called to be salt and light, not only through pure doctrine and preaching to save souls, but by showing how life is meant to be lived on this created earth. As part of our mission mandate, we need to be able to have meaningful dialogue between Jerusalem and Athens. Martins examines the religious foundations of Mesoamerican civilization through the lenses of history, archaeology, theology, and presuppositional apologetics. Tracing the beliefs of the Maya and Mexica peoples from their cosmological origins to the collapse of the Mexican Empire, he argues that Mesoamerica provides a compelling case study in mankind's inescapable religious nature and the consequences of suppressing the knowledge of the true God. Situating indigenous traditions within a broader biblical framework, Martins offers a distinctive Christian interpretation of one of the ancient world's most fascinating civilizations.

Specifications:

Format: Paperback
Page Count: 74
Imprint: Cántaro Publications
ISBN-13: 978-1998711635
Size: 12.7 x 0.58 x 17.78 cm
Published: 2026

Steven R. L. Hebden Taylor presents a sweeping and penetrating analysis of Western civilization, arguing that every society is ultimately shaped by its religious presuppositions and foundational worldview commitments. Tracing the rise of humanism, secularism, and revolutionary thought from the Renaissance through the Enlightenment and into the modern age, Taylor contrasts the revolutionary spirit of autonomous mankind with the transforming power of the Protestant Reformation and the Lordship of Jesus Christ over every sphere of life. With theological depth, historical insight, and cultural relevance, this work calls Christians to reject the false neutrality of modern culture and to recover a distinctly biblical worldview capable of reforming not only the church, but also the family, education, politics, economics, and the broader structures of society.

Specifications:

Format: Paperback
Page Count: 648
Imprint: Cántaro Publications
ISBN-13: 978-1998711581
Size: 15.24 x 3.63 x 22.86 cm
Published: 2026

E.
